Daisy Head Floral Headband

Has the Spring season got you trippin' over your toes in flowers? Want to try out the trend that's got everyone pretty in petals?  Here's how you can make your own happy little floral headband!

What You Need:
  • Scissors
  • Floral tape (found at Walmart and craft stores)
  • A beautiful bouquet (I recommend a Dollar Store for this one)

What To Do:
  1. Cut off each stem a couple inches from the actual bud. Make sure you don't cut off more than you need; you can use the remainder of the bouquet in a vase to light up a desk or table.
  2. Take each snippet and wrap the stems together, securing with floral tape. Do this until you have a band that will comfortably fit on your head.
  3. If you don't secure the tape tightly enough, some of the pieces may try to bop off. Adding more floral tape to problem areas can fix this issue.

4. Wear on a picnic, nature walk, or garden show. This headband is sure to bring happiness wherever it goes (and maybe a couple butterflies too)!

P.S.- Ignore the timestamp. It lies. ;)

Blog Browsing, Golf Ball Finding

Looking for an awesome DIY fashion blog? Check icandy handmade, where you can see how to make fast and easy projects with little effort!

Also...

Where's Wilson? Wilson the Golf Ball is playing hide-and-seek with Coral Reef Islanders, and is hiding somewhere on this blog. To find her, look for her picture with the initials W.W. on it. Then, once you've discovered her hiding place, leave me a comment or email me telling me where she is. Once she's been found, she will find a new place to hide in, so you have to keep on the lookout!
"Where's Wilson" info is also at the bottom of the "Home" page, so if you want to review the info, look below!

(Hint: Wilson loves making crafts!)

Anchors Away, Big Plans (again), New in Organization Oasis, and Final Goodbyes

Is that an anchor I spy on your sweater? Are you following the nautical trend? Really, Roland.

Haven't been on for about a week due to many events going on, but here I am again. Hope the Mother's Day ideas helped someone out, but I know there are a few people that are like, "Mother, nothing. I want that for myself!" I know I was. Anyway, I hope to have big plans for summer, so be sure to keep tunin' in.

P.S. RIP, Preston.

Ligeia Jr. Presents/ Madame BunBun's New Pad

 Ligeia Jr. Presents...

Leopard Print!!

This week's fashion includes a leopard-print top belted with a silk black ribbon and a black silk skirt, which is embroidered with white hand-sewn flowers. It is topped with a leopard print flower for the hair (or plastic nub).

Also... as I promised, here is Sassy's/Madame BunBun's cardboard house.  Half of the roof opens up so that we can see what she's doing, and it has windows that you can see through.

Madame BunBuns Has House

Yay! I have finally found a pattern for my zebra-print dress (it's AH-DORABLE!!!) , so hopefully I can get started on it soon. Just recently, I have started work on Madame BunBuns' (aka Sassy's) house which my mother made, but is having me paint, and I must say, is the cutest thing ever made from cardboard. Hopefully I can post a picture of it completed soon. She also has a cardboard car that sis #2 and I worked on a long time ago. House, car- that cat has it all!

Sassy's not the only one with a car...

Ligeia Jr. Presents

This week's featured fashion is...

Le Fleur de Lace   , which is comprised of black silk. It is hemmed by light pink lace, and it features a rhinestone-centered lace flower. It is essential for Springtime, and is therefore topped off with a handmade hat (as seen in Coral Reef Crafts). A silver ribbon to the waist completes the outfit.

Trip departure, puppy eyes, and cold shoulders (not to mention sneaky cats)

I probably won't be on here until Friday because of a trip, to which I am looking forward. Only problem: what to wear!!! Anyway, you've probably noticed the title change, so tell me what you think of it. You can see the coral reefs around the island.

The worst part of the trip is knowing what is probably going to be horribly upset. It's my first trip since getting Roland, and I'm curious as to what will be going on with him. Besides that, sis's #2 and #3 are going with me, and I think he personally prefers #2 over the three of us. So it is sure to be an interesting time for him.

Sassy is used to me leaving on trips, though it seems as if she gets a little melancholy when I pull out my duffel bag. Cats can understand what that means, and they often give a cold shoulder for a while if they figure out that you're leaving them. Too bad. She probably have a ball with Tan (mon house gecko), knowing that I won't be there to stop or scold her.

Floppy hats, Easter baskets, and Cookie Chicks

First, HUZZAH for floppy hats!! Nothing says tres fab like a nice, big, floppy hat. I got my first one today, and it won't be the last. It reminds me of the Coca-Cola commercial with "Lola" and David Beckham.

Second, as I promised, Home-made Easter Baskets are here. Attach tissue paper to a cotton candy container, tape a ribbon on the inside, and get ready to egg-hunt!

Also, check out Citrus Easter Chicks Cookies in the Creature's in the Kitchen tab.

Bad days, dead ends, and ego deflation

Today I was having a very off-day. At first, it didn't seem like it, but it was one of those things where you go through the whole day, then realize at the end what a bust it was. I did, however, feel good about all the calling we did. It seemed like the perfect thing to do on Good Friday. It's funny how no one wants to believe that there is something to Christianity, yet most schools have that day off as a "Spring Holiday". To me, there's just something  messed up about that. Seriously though, there is no better way to spend Easter than in a church service. You may think that it would be boring and lame, but many, many people break down on their church-distancing thing to attend a service, and you feel very good about it. There's a feeling that kind of goes around on Easter, just like a sense of hope or something. There is no way I would rather celebrate it by.

I've been trying to get this dress made for I don't even know how long, but I always come to a wall. I need to get working on it. I find motivation to be the key to every lock, only sometimes, it seems like it's the key I'm always putting in wrong.

Ego. It's something every human has, and can be
the biggest thing in the world. At least for some people it seems that way. Maybe the world would be better without it. It is something that is too often abused, too often used. And I'm one of those people. The smallest thing can fire it up, but it takes a bigger thing to put it out. Like mopping. If there were two things that I could ask for myself and get, it would be wisdom and patience. Patience to deal with others' egos, and wisdom to keep mine in check.  When you do things that you know you shouldn't do, you are hurting God. You must tell Him what you did, apologize, and promise never to do it again. And you must mean it. If you do, He will forgive you. Just like His Son. He didn't have to. It wasn't His fault that we sinned. Yet He died for us, because He loves us. The least we can do is attend an Easter service. Maybe invite a few friends.

GBF #3

                                           Girl's best friend #3: Shopping
I've always thought that it would be fun to have my own show, like Mary Tyler Moore and Marlo Thomas (That Girl). I love the different fashions that Ann Marie is always wearing. Some of them are kinda bizarre, but others are tres fab.
